Albert Einstein - Biro by Flotter Albert Einstein - Biro by Flotter
Woohoo the smart man is aliiive! I used a blue Bic ballpoint pen to render and did initial pencil outline first. I didn't use pencil for every detail such as the hair, jumper, or wrinkles.. i kinda just made the wrinkles up along the way and they were enjoyable to recreate :)

After reading :iconcrimefish: 's journal.. [link] I felt really sad for her so I've decided to dedicate this drawing to her and also :iconlollies-pop: because she's a talented and kind gal. I also feel sorry for her cos her leg is kinda like.. broken D; and she's sick too. Gotta love both of them and also all the deviants who supported me along the way. I can't stop saying ty!

All comments dearly appreciated :manhug:

so impressive!!! can you tell me how you do the texture and rendering with a bic pen??? I mean, in a pencil drawing you can use eraser to help (a lot) on it, I wonder how to do in a bic pen...

I use the crosshatching technique. It's normally just drawing a lot of gentle lines to make it appear like a smooth surface. You have to be really patient and if your pen is going to spew out ink at random times, make sure you have spare paper or tissue just to dab at so the blob of ink doesn't go on your drawing.
The pencil is only used for the initial outline before rendering in the pen. So make sure you get that right because if proportions aren't right, your pen will ruin everything and there's no going back!

Yep I do if I want it to turn out nice in the end. For just random sketches I keep elsewhere I don't bother with the pencil .

The detail and complexity of his wrinkles, the fine strokes forming his hair...you captured his brilliance in this equally brilliant piece.
